Orchard Street appoints Philip Gadsden as a new Partner

Orchard Street Investment Management, the specialist UK commercial property investment manager, is delighted to announce the appointment of Philip Gadsden as a new Partner of the firm.
Philip brings wide ranging investment skills to the management of existing client work, as well as to the planning of future strategy for client portfolios. He will also join Orchard Street’s Investment Committee.
Philip had a distinguished 20 year career at Jones Lang LaSalle culminating in becoming an International Director at LaSalle Investment Management. In 2001 he left LaSalle to co found Gatehouse Investment Management, a boutique real estate specialist which, in 2003, was sold to Insight Investment. In 2006, Insight’s real estate business was separated and listed independently on AIM as Invista Real Estate Investment Management - Philip served on the Board during the IPO as Finance Director and Chief Operating Officer and was later appointed as Deputy Chief Executive Officer for the Group.
Early in 2012 Philip was released from Invista but remained as consultant to the company until its takeover by Palmer Capital in Summer 2012. Since then Philip has been appointed Chairman to the Board of the General Partner to Investors in the Community Limited Partnership, a specialist PFI investment fund managing c.£600m of PFI assets for a number of institutional investors. He has also been appointed consultant to Palmer Capital and adviser to Canada Life Investments.
Philip has nearly 30 years’ experience in real estate related investment management primarily in UK commercial and residential assets. He has advised a variety of UK pension schemes, life funds, charities and others on their directly and indirectly owned real estate investment portfolios. Dating back to 1996, he has been heavily involved in the indirect market and has established and managed a number of new investment vehicles for institutional investors, both onshore and offshore. He also has much experience in real estate related public markets involving both debt and equity.
