Orchard Street lettings at Gildersome Spur, Leeds
6 June 2012
Double Letting at refurbished Gildersome Spur Industrial Estate, Yorkshire
Orchard Street Investment Management, the specialist commercial property investment manager, has secured two new lettings totalling approximately 30,000 sq ft at Gildersome Spur Industrial Estate, Yorkshire. The lettings follow the completion of a comprehensive refurbishment programme implemented by Orchard Street soon after it took over management of the estate.
Yorkshire Catering Equipment, a long established manufacturer of catering products, which relocated from Batley, has taken 20,000 sq ft, while MSM Foods Limited has taken approximately 10,000 sq ft. Both businesses were attracted to Gildersome Spur by the quality of the newly refurbished space and because of its excellent strategic location which allows direct access onto the M62 via J27.
Commenting on the recent success Richard Walters of Orchard Street Investment said:
“We are delighted to have attracted two new occupiers and are confident that the recent improvements will continue to attract strong interest. Gildersome Spur is one of the premier industrial destinations in Yorkshire, offering just under 470,000 sq ft of space.”
Ben Schofield of Carter Towler, the joint letting agents alongside DTZ, commented:
“The recent activity reinforces the client’s decision to invest in the estate and shows there is demand for good quality product, especially considering the current lack of new stock within the Leeds industrial market.”
Gildersome Spur is one of the largest industrial / distribution estates in Yorkshire and is currently home to a range of tenants that include Home Delivery Network, Orange plc, Next Group plc and DHL. The recent lettings leave four remaining units of circa 6,000 – 20,000 sq ft available on a leasehold basis.
