Leading property consultancies Carter Towler and GV&Co, acting on behalf of Orchard Street Investment Management, asset managers for Ares Management, has successfully secured new lettings at Gildersome Spur, Leeds following a comprehensive refurbishment programme.
Gildersome Spur, one of the largest and most successful single-owned industrial estates in Yorkshire, extends to approximately 465,719 sq ft of industrial and warehouse accommodation across a 25-acre site. Units range in size from 5,000 sq ft to 46,000 sq ft, offering a diverse range of high-quality space for occupiers.
Strategically located five miles south of Leeds City Centre, the estate benefits from excellent connectivity, with immediate access to the M621 and M62 motorways and the wider national motorway network.
As part of the recent leasing activity, Unit L has been let to ARC Building Solutions Ltd, which has taken additional space to support its continued expansion alongside its existing occupation at Unit J. ARC Building Solutions develops industry-leading solutions that safeguard buildings from the spread of fire, heat loss, and intrusive noise - helping to create safer, more sustainable spaces for people to live and work.
Unit D1 has also been let to Apollo Healthcare Technologies Ltd, which is their second unit on the estate, doubling the overall space, this reflects strong occupier demand for high-quality refurbished space. Three units remain available providing 15,000 sq ft, 20,000 sq ft and 40,000 sq ft which have very strong interest.
Hazel Cooper, Associate Director at Carter Towler, commented: “The investment in Gildersome Spur has transformed the estate, delivering a step-change in quality and specification. The refurbishment programme has future-proofed the accommodation, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of modern occupiers while significantly enhancing its ESG credentials. The strong leasing activity underlines the appeal of the estate and prestigious location, and the high standard of the works undertaken.”
The refurbishment has been delivered to an exceptionally high standard, with a strong focus on sustainability and operational efficiency. Enhancements include new LED lighting, EV charging infrastructure and fully refurbished office space with modern welfare facilities. Units benefit from EPC ‘A/B’ ratings, new roofs incorporating translucent panels, and secure yard and loading areas with ground-level access doors. The estate also offers on-site security and generous parking provisions.
The estate is already home to a number of established businesses including DHL, Dennis Eagle, Clade, Kingfisher Windows, Dufton Plumbing & Heating Supplies, Alliance Disposables and Calderys.
Andy Yates, COO of ARC Building Solutions, added: “Our expansion at Gildersome Spur marks an important milestone for the business following a period of significant growth. Securing additional space on an estate where we already operate was a natural choice, allowing us to scale efficiently while remaining in a location that works well for our team and operations.
“This move will support our continued development as we deliver innovative solutions that enhance building safety and sustainability.”
Rob Oliver of Avison Young acted on behalf of ARC.
Alex Hardwick of Orchard Street concludes: “We are delighted to have supported ARC taking additional space at Gildersome Spur which provides them with high-quality, future-ready facility that supports both operational efficiency and continued growth. The combination of sustainability features, excellent access and a well-established industrial location makes this an outstanding platform for the company’s next phase of expansion.”
